815. Susie Steiner - Remain Silent

I love Susie Steiner and her Manon detective. Sadly I think she has been very ill and is now blind, so this is only the third novel is the series. But they are so good. Manon is a Cambridgeshire policewoman but also a radical and really funny feminist. The main lot in this one is about Lithuanian migrants workers in Wisbech (wherever that is) and is quite good, but the sub-narrative is about how to keep one’s marriage/partnership together and this is brilliantly funny and better written. She is such fun to read and a good writer that I do hope she can carry on.
