Read this again in anticipation of the book group meeting, which was subsequently cancelled due to covid.
It is a very good but very difficult book – I kept wondering towards the end if I was missing the key. Takes the unreliable narrator to new heights. On a 2nd reading, I wondered if Inspector Waliso (is awol) is in fact Steve Smith, communicating with his son through a fictional intermediary. A tale of two gold heists, both probably fictional.
