987. Robert Galbraith - The Cuckoo's Calling

The first of the Cormorant Strike novels in which the eponymous hero and Robin his P.A, business partner and romantic partner are introduced. The plot revolves around the apparent suicide of a glamorous model and the investigation into her death is instigated implausibly by her half-brother, who turns out to be the perpetrator. These books are long and have incredibly complex plots, which Strike, Sherlock Holmes-like disentangles. The slowly developing romantic interest between him and Robin is as interesting as the plot. They are good and readable but could do with an edit!
