975. Anne Perry - A Truth To Lie For

This was pretty low grade, despite being described as ‘reminiscent of Graham Greene’. I don’t think so.

A quasi-espionage thriller set mainly in Germany in the 1930s, our heroine Elena is sent by MI5 to extradite a German scientist working in germ warfare from Berlin before the inevitable 2nd World War breaks out. She fails, but frankly who cares?

Poorly written, overly sentimental, not quite chick-lit, but could be if there was a love interest.
