A book about the failure of the Corbyn experiment in the Labour party.
Far too long and detailed for me. Jones clearly endorsed the project and was part of it, and it is quite good on its failures, not only hostility from the right wing press but also internal dissent within the party and Corbyn’s failures as a leader - he was clearly never up to the role and was projected into it rather reluctantly. But for me, there was far too much detailed commentary on the day to day mechanics of the process.
The chapter on anti-semitism, accusations of which probably nearly destroyed Corbyn, is quite good. I also thought it was written from a quite old fashioned socialist perspective; the world and the underlying issued have I think moved on a lot from the naivety of the Fabian left.
