949. Isabel Allende - Violeta

I loved this – fictionalised autobiography spanning the century from 1920 to 2020, written as a letter from a Uruguayan (I think) woman to her grandson, who improbably is a priest.

Her travails as a 20th century woman and her country (swinging from left to right wing dictatorships) are beautifully covered and I will read more. It starts and ends in a flu type pandemic.

If I was a friend of the Queen I would recommend it to her as it will cover roughly her lifespan. Very good.
