937. Jim Eldridge - Murder At The Savoy

Never heard of the author; one of a series set in London during the blitz.

Unclear why the central detective has to be an aristocrat closely related to the royal family, Peter Wimsley is a minor aristocrat in comparison. Coburg is recently married to a jazz singer, so a blend of liberalism and aristocracy.

Quite well plotted, but the writing deteriorates towards the end – I am not sure that ‘You're hot and a hunk’ as Rosa tells Coburg, is language from the 1940’s. But not a bad read.
