Very good and very well written – good prose.
An old fashioned detective novel with a contemporary setting. The two sleuths are a couple of middle class women living in a fictitious south coast town. The murder is of a fairly obnoxious author who has been trumpeting his new book in the local library.
One of the sleuths is an old acquaintance of the murderee, who has tried to seduce her on leaving the library, and as a result she is the prime suspect. There are of course many others and the ladies eventually solve the crime, in the best tradition of such books making the local plod look silly.
There are lots more and they are pretty readable, if you like this sort of thing.
