924. David Mark - Past Life


I have read this guy before, a bit of a reading binge in Malaga in 2017, see no.490. But I hadn’t read this one; I think a fairly recent addition to the series.

He writes quite well, but the trouble with these books is that they are all really the same – huge but mild-mannered policeman in Scunthorpe area married to Irish traveller girl, whose family engage in lots of Irish traveller violence and criminality leading to jeopardy for her and their family, which makes his career as a policeman tricky.

His physical prowess and the violence he reluctantly inflicts and suffers are just a bit improbable. But quite readable.
