911. David Palin - This Changed Everthing

Definitely worth another read. A complex and at times bewildering thriller, which is difficult to do justice to without revealing the plot (I have been asked not to).

It centres on an affair between DI Logan who has been sent to investigate a bizarre sexual assault, and its victim Claire Treloggan, a young pregnant woman married to a pretty unpleasant man.

There is immediate sexual chemistry between the two, to the extent that Logan blackmails a scumbag from his past into confessing to the crime, in an act of sexually motivated chivalry. This changed everything happens when Claire discovers that her husband is having an affair. His body is found in his car off the Cornish coast and Logan and Claire begin their inevitable affair. But the course of true love…, and Claire is revealed to be both victim and femme fatale.

I will read more.
