9. Peter Robinson - The Summer That Never Was

Robinson is probably my favourite crime writer.

I hadn't read this for ages and really enjoyed it. I don't know whether I like them so much because Banks (his detective) is so close in age and attitude to me.

This is a really good story, with two good parallel plots, one modern-day and one about 40 years ago, involving Banks as a kid.

Excellent.
