857. Reginald Hill - Child's Play


Thought I would go for something a bit lighter. Had read this before and possibly seen it on the TV, many years ago.

It is the one in which Wield is outed. The plots, by this time in his career, are becoming quite convoluted (as this was), but still pretty good.

Essentially, a conspiracy by various potential beneficiaries to benefit from the will of a rather dotty old woman who had left her estate to a son apparently killed in World War 2, provided he was proved to be alive in (I think) 2015. So impersonators competing with deniers.

Quite good.
