843. Richard Osman - The Thursday Murder Club

Good, and very different, despite feeling slightly negative about the author as a clever dick TV quiz show presenter.

Set in a retirement complex, some of the occupants (including an ex-policewoman and MI5 female operative and ex-nurse, the lovely Joyce who narrates chunks of it) set up a murder mystery club.

As it evolves, historic murders linked to some of the club members, hook together with contemporary murders which the murder club, who are rather brighter than the local police, solve.

Well written and cleverly constructed.
