Thought I would try another one. This (unless I have totally misunderstood the plotting) was 5 mid/ short length stories, within some interrelationships particularly between no’s 1, 2 and 5. (3 & 4 were discrete, but very good, shortish stories). I loved the whole thing; he is (was) a very good writer, and I might bounce back and read The Collector. I loved the first story called The Ebony Tower, about an old roué English painter living in France and his hareem.
