807. Harriet Tyce - Blood Orange

Spent my Xmas token from Dan at last (covid). This was at best a beach read, and not really very good. Implausibly over-sexed 40 year old mother/criminal barrister has steamy affairs with pretty unpleasant instructing solicitor while they co defend a case. Meanwhile she is being stalked (implausibly) by her husband, who is an unpleasant sex addict, defining himself as a proper father to their daughter, in contrast to his wife, but is in fact (rather obviously) a pretty nasty guy. I couldn’t relate to the narrator/central character at all – she seemed to fall for the sexual demands of the solicitor every time he whistled and for no good or plausible reason. Is her husband supposed to be so unpleasant. A best seller, but pretty low grade in my view.
