Took the day off on Friday to enjoy the sun and wanted a chunky book. I had no clear memory of reading this before but it was quite a rattling page turning thriller, which reminded me a little of Kate Atkinson, as the plot bounces between a few characters chapter by chapter. Cleverly plotted, the central figure’s life descends from normality to total abnormality as a result of a few random events at the start, and the rest of the book is his attempt to escape capture and revert the world to normality. Very good, could be televised or filmed well.
