I think what I said at 786 above is correct; these books do seem to me to be quite structurally and thematically repetitive. We again have white collar crime and corruption; 3 possible organisational suspects and Warshawski standing up for youth and innocence, in this case her cousin, already dead as the book opens.
786 was about insurance fraud; this one is about bribery and corruption in the grain shipping industry on the Great Lakes (is it) bordering Chicago and stretching into Canada. Warshawski is as heroic as ever, fearless of men with guns and leaping off a yacht where she is captive to save herself at the end. I may read no 3 next and see if it is any different!
