I like this writer and hadn’t read one for years, but picked one of which I had no memory, perhaps because it is not that good.
Three intermingled plot lines which Matt Scudder of course solves all, but the links were a bit tenuous, and it was a bit like reading 3 short stories bolted together. He is a good solid and intelligent writer, so always worth reading but the multilayered plot in this one didn’t really work for me.
