These books are (becoming, for me) a bit repetitive. This (I think) is no.14 and I have missed 13, so bits of plot.
The Three Pines village is a wonderful creation, but the interaction between this and Gamache’s head of Surete role and then his solving of minor and incidental crimes hang together a bit tenuously, the more of them you read.
Maybe, Louise Penny, he should just retire from his Surete role, hand it over to his son in-law, enjoy Three Pines, solve a few local crimes and help the son-in-law with a bit of experience and wisdom.
