648. Ragnar Jónasson - The Darkness

An Xmas present from Dan, an Icelandic detective/ thriller.

The heroine is a semi-retired and slightly superannuated policewoman in Reykjavik, who is allowed a cold case to look at before her (enforced) retirement. She solves the case but at the cost of her own life; she is buried alive by the killer as she unravels his actions.

Quite good but also quite slight. A change from Dostoyevsky though!
