Inspired I think by no. 641 to re-read this as the books are thematically quite similar, in that both have an obscurely motivated murder at their heart. 641 is of the 19th century with quite a lot of religious thinking at its heart (?); 643 of the 20th century as fiercely anti-religious in this aspect.
