609. Peter Robinson - Watching The Dark

Another of my favourite crime writers, although Robinson is more conventional and formulaic than Herron or Ellory.

Robinson strikes me as the sort of English middle class father who takes wife and kids to Glastonbury, maybe this is because he (or Banks) is pretty heavily into music. He is also a bit of a name dropping poseur; if Banks has a glass of wine it will certainly be named and you can bet that the middle classes will enjoy it.

But these are minor carps; Banks (appallingly televised by the actor who used to live round here) is a good quality cop and person, and I am particularly fond of his sidekick Annie Cabbott.
