599. Margaret Atwood - The Handmaids Tale

Good, dystopian novel, which I am not sure whether I have read before. In some ways, very like 1984.

I enjoyed it and particularly her linguistic explorations of the sources and words and puns. The ending was clever as approaching I couldn’t see how to achieve this, but the heroine was taken away by the police equivalent to face either execution or escape as was whispered to her. But which?
