This is the 3rd time I have read this (463 & 517), having recommended him to a friend and wanting to remind myself/confirm (!) that they are good. Which they are, but not always an easy read (I was lost in the middle of this one, but maybe that was lack of concentration or tiredness).
We have 2 variants of MI5, at loggerheads, the official one based in Regents Park, presided over by ‘Lady’ Di Taverner and Ingrid Tearney (who loathe each other) and Slough House, home for the rejects, presided over by Jackson [it is Lamb], not Brodie, not Browne, not Pollock, can’t remember.
Slough House wins this battle as they do most. The Boris Johnson character makes his first appearance. All the Slough House characters are interesting and develop (if not killed) as the books progress.
