I didn’t enjoy this much, at least until very near the end when the subject became a little clearer.
So, (as everyone says nowadays), it is a ‘Jesus in contemporary suburbia’ novel. I found the contemporary suburbia (about 400 pages) pretty tedious, but the last 50 when the plot clarified were better.
A misunderstood man, in contemporary suburbia, hounded by most of his neighbours. Set in the scorching summer of 1976, for reasons unclear to me. Better google it to see what I have missed!
Nothing, apparently, no-one else has picked up on the Jesus motif, but the descriptions of suburbia are highly rated, not by me though!
