471. Adam Sisman - John Lee Carré (The Biography)

A late Xmas present from B.

Very good (and long) book; Le Carré’s adult life mirrors much of my (actual) life, so much of the terrain covered is familiar and salient. I think I have probably read about half of his books.

Le Carré is probably a more interesting person than I had thought; angry about a lot of things and politically far more left wing than I would have imagined; there is a softness that diffuses his books which is not the man.

He is still alive in his late 80’s; maybe no longer writing.
