464. G F Newman - The Corrupted Part One


I think this guy is also a TV script-writer, but this was very good.

Set in the East End post war, a bunch of working class on the fringes of the underworld characters rub shoulders with the Krays, Rachman, Wilson and Tom Driberg, although it is not shoulders that get rubbed in his case.

Slightly reminiscent of RJ Ellory, although the setting here is London not New York. Would televise well, which was perhaps the plan.

Will read part two, but not next.
