461. Ian Rankin - Even Dogs In The Wild


Read this, untypically, in parallel with 460 above.

I have enjoyed Rankin recently but found this a little low grade and predictable, another book churned off the production line. Typically with a lot of modern crime stories (TV and literary), historic abuse by the powerful and well connected in a children’s home was the buried origin of many of the crimes 30 years later.

I’ll probably re-read and enjoy better another time.
