46. E.M. Forster - A Room With A View


Hadn't read this for years, if indeed ever.

Very slow to get moving. I thought it was quite DH Lawrence-ish; love across the social classes; delusion about the right sort of lover (posh or middle class honest) for the posh heroine, didn't really think until near the end of the gay subtext re Forster's own life.

Wouldn't have been that impressed if I'd read it 'cold'.
