I have read this before (no 372), but it is far better on a 2nd reading. There are three plot lines:
The murder of the archaeologist seeking the coffin of Champlain, the founder of Quebec, by the English priest to protect the Anglo community in Quebec.
The vindication of Olivier, who did not murder the hermit, as Gamache had thought in 'A Brutal Telling' (370)
The corruption in the Surete, episode in the disused factory where Morin dies and Gamache and Beauvoir nearly do.
It is brilliant.
