447. John Le Carré - The Secret Pilgrim

I was looking for a different Le Carré book, but this one was referred to in 446, so I thought I would give it a go (I must have read it years ago, but remember nothing about it).

It is a slightly lightweight series of reminiscences by a guy who worked for Smiley, spanning Smiley’s year at MI5. The best of the stories features an interrogation by the central character of a spy who has been denounced (it transpires by himself) – very similar to ‘Call for the Dead’ which I think was Le Carré’s first Smiley novel.
