421. Chris Cleave - Everyone Brave Is Forgiven

Another library book via P.

I am not reading at all fluently at the moment; this was quite a good book but I didn’t really enjoy it at all. I didn’t warm to any of the characters, although they were all quite interesting and sympathetically drawn.

The plot was a 2nd World War drama/ romance; reminded me a little of 'The English Patient', about how various (three in particular) slight social and intellectual misfits navigated the war experience, lived, loved and in one case died.

It is a book I should probably read again; reading is a very moody experience, and one’s own mood permeates one’s response to a book far more than I had thought; witness the last few re-reads in this catalogue.
