A short story that I found (and bought) late last night having finished no.418.
This was very paired down Penny, although set in Three Pines, pretty narrow and focussed on the crime. The plot really had more logic than no.418 – a man is murdered; it transpired his wife and daughter had been killed years earlier in a hit and run and he has set out on revenge; two of his victims see him come and murder him.
Not bad for a short story.
