Another attic book. Started this before no.395 as it and the next three were all library books. This was OK, but had a very slow start.
A couple of black kids killed in a school in Brooklyn (or Harlem), in any event a New York black ghetto. Not a sexually motivated inter-teenager crime as people want to believe, but a cover up for drug dealing in the school.
Not the best American crime novel since 'Presumed Innocent’ (The Washington Post) either, but not bad.
If mid-period Henry James had written crime novels, they would not be unlike this.
