374. Louise Penny - Still Life

As the madness of 31st January approached, I thought I’d stick with the writer I know and enjoyed and re-read the first book (no.362) partly to see what subsequent themes were planted here. And sure enough there are some. Incidentally, I enjoyed this far more 2nd than 1st time round. Here are the subsequent themes that I noticed:

  • Olivier’s greed for antiques (no.370)

  • The appearance of ‘Old’ (no.372)

  • Dr Gilbert, only as a book in Myrna’s store (no.370)

  • Peter’s parents (no.366)

It is also clear here that Clara is also in love with Ben, which may explain some of her subsequent troubles with Peter.
