354. Lawrence Durrell - Clea


There is less plot really in this one:

Darley returns to Alexandria, gives the girl to her father Nessim and becomes Clea’s lover. Mountolive marries Pursewarden’s blind sister, with whom he had had an incestuous relationship. Darley helps her burn the letters which evidence this. Balthazar manages to shoot a harpoon through Clea’s hand, which results in amputation but improved artwork. Clea and Darley both leave Alexandria intending—I think—to meet up in France.
