350. Patrick Gale - A Place Called Winter

Fond though I am of Patrick Gale, I didn’t like this much; too much gay proselytising, although he explains the genesis of the book (a fictionalised bit of real family history in a post script). But I still didn’t like it much, and he is slightly defensive in the post script about the difference in tone and narrative content from his other books.
