311. Attica Locke - Pleasantville

I wasn’t even aware I had this book – obviously a Radio 4 inspired impulse buy. But very good, even following Ms. Austen.

Courtroom drama – reminded me of Presumed Innocent. Set in a largely black Houston town around a mayoral election, a complex tale of fraud, electoral skulduggery and murder, with the backdrop of the Bush 2000 election victory and I am sure the same skulduggery hovering in the background.

A real pager turner towards the end – shall look out for more by her.
