290. Penny Feeny - That Summer In Ischia


Superior chic lit really.

Quite a good plot, about the current lives of a couple of gels who went child-minding in Italy in the late 70’s and how events then bounce back to today, via a child one of them has of doubtful (ie identity of father) origin.

Would maybe make quite a good film with location and glamorous roles for the cast, but as a novel it lacks much substance (one could of course say the same about the many detective novels I read; are these somehow sanitised by the bracket ‘detective novel/thriller’?).
