260. Andrew Rosenheim - The Informant

Not sure what to make of this, or exactly what genre it aspires to. I guess spy thriller.

I thought it would compare interestingly with 'Perfidia' (no.254) as also set in West Coast USA just before Pearl Harbour. But this is a narrower, more specific novel, with shades I thought of Chandler.

The heroes are two FBI employees, one on the west, the other on the east coast interacting with Japanese, German and Russians in the uncertainty of early (for the USA) World War 2.

At the end of the day, I found the plot and the book itself a bit nothingey. Not exactly bad, but I wouldn’t actively seek out another.
