242. Håkan Nesser - Hour Of The Wolf

Needed a proper novel, with a plot, after no.241.

This has a great plot with apparently quite unrelated deaths (one not a murder) linked by what the reader knows but the police cannot know (although the reader doesn’t know the identity of the blackmailer until near the end).

The end of the book is a disappointment; the surviving baddie for gratuitous reasons flies off to New York where one of the police team from Europe flies over to locate and arrest him. But this could all have happened in Europe and the New York location was just a distraction.
