239. R. J. Ellory - A Simple Act Of Violence

Have read this before but it is really good.

It is about a huge CIA conspiracy which two CIA members try to uncover by creating an apparently domestic crime with clues which will lead the police to the conspiracy. So the concept is (I thought) very clever; although as I got near the end I had some doubts about the execution.

Also, the conspirators finally win out by conspiring further, so this is less than entirely satisfying. But despite that, it is a huge and great read – at his best, Ellory is very good.
