157. Graham Greene - Travels With My Aunt

Spent my Waterstones birthday token from Dan on a couple of books. I had never, except by name, heard of this but the blurb on the back did a good job and good it was.

Almost an Ealing comedy, this would make a great film. The aunt in question, more than an aunt, in fact, is a wholly disreputable minor comic masterpiece, and the laconic hero, whose initials remind him of a well-known sauce, is a great contrast. The aunt has a strong element of lady Bracknell about her and it is a little Wildean.

A great change from a lot of recent reading.
