147. Philip Kerr - A Man Without Breath

I have read a trilogy, I think called 'Berlin Noir' before, without really enjoying it.

l am not sure that I enjoyed this a lot either- very long, set mainly in Smolensk in 1943, it features a sort of detective working for the Abwehr investigating mass graves in Russia.

Are the victims Poles, Russians, Jews and who is responsible? A lot of politics was between nazi Germans, the German aristocracy/junkers, Russians and whoever else was around.

Part historical, part fiction, but just didn’t do a great deal for me. Might revisit 'Berlin Noir' which I think I own in paperback [I don’t in fact].
