Thought I would read a more recent one. This is structured around two fictionalisations of real-life events:
Saville and historic abuse by celebrities (Banks & Winsome)
Grooming of teenage girls by Pakistani men (Annie and new person).
It is another very good book, but because quite narrowly focused on the two main events, less rich than no.1089. The grooming plot is probably stronger than the ‘Saville’ one, the main thread of which is Banks’ typically ambiguous relationship with the victim, now a middle-aged poet, who obviously impresses him qua poet (he starts reading poetry to impress her?) and qua attractive woman. Whereas the grooming plot has far more characters and range.
