1087. Jane Austen - Northanger Abbey

Haven’t read this since I was at school, but P now has the collected works.

Austen does write perfect prose, which is a joy to read. I think this is her first book, and although it is well known as a parody or joke on the gothic novel, it ends up as a fairly conventional late 18th /early 19th century class-based romance.

Enjoyed the prose, the plot was a bit thin.
