1070. Joanne Harris - Broken Light

Strange and difficult, although paradoxically easy to read. Fiercely and angrily feminist, it centres on Bernie Moon, a menopausal woman who rediscovers an ability to enter other people’s minds, "houses" in the book, that she had pre-puberty.

With this weird skill, she saves Issy, a rebellious post-teenager, from, what Bernie believes, is a predatory man. Bernie is unhappily married and low in self-esteem, but armed with her new powers gradually re-discovers herself.

Lots of interesting themes, but I am not entirely sure what the point of it was.
