The 2nd book. I can't get a clear fix on this guy - they're lurid, over violent, with a fairly unlikeable hero, but clever and well written.
This one is just about a couple of psychopaths, who do their murders in parallel. It does all feel a bit 'So what?' or 'Big Deal', obviously the killers are going to be caught, Thorne is going is to risk life and limb and piss off colleagues and bosses and then it will end and you will find out 'who done it'.
We did and it has no real bearing on the anterior plot.
